ABSTRACT
Inflation is a global phenomenon in present day's time. There is hardly any country in the capitalist world today, which is not afflicted by the specter of inflation. It is an account of this that the phenomenon of inflation has widely attracted the attention of the economists all the world over, but despite that there is no generally accepted definition of the term 'inflation'. Different economists have offered different definitions ofinflation.
